Dutch Ambassador’s Residence

Client: Dutch Government

Project value: Undisclosed

  • Complete refurbishment of a Grade 2 listed building in the ‘Queen Anne’ style with a new rear extension and basement car park and installation of a lift.
  • The building was also extended to provide private suite accommodation for staff and guests including one for the Queen of Netherlands.
  • An important part of the brief was to make the building able to cater for ambassadorial receptions. The interior of the main floors was therefore planned so rooms linked to one another to create large open spaces suitable for entertaining. These spaces open out onto a first floor terrace which can be covered over with a demountable tensile structured canopy for use in all weathers.
