Works nearing completion on a pair of new build houses at Gayness Park near Epping.

The houses are part of the overall Gaynes Park project that included 7 apartments in the refurbished Grade II* listed mansion and 5 new houses that were approved in the green belt as part of an enabling works scheme agreed with English Heritage to support the refurbishment of Gaynes Park Mansion that was previously on English Heritages at risk register.

Both houses are approximately 4,500sq.ft

Planning granted through appeal for subterranean house in Leytonstone 

An appeal has been permitted by the secretary of state to allow the construction of a 2 bedroom subterranean house in Waltham forest. The application was made following a number of unsuccessful schemes from another architect. The appeal was  collaboration with Mark Shearman, planing consultant at First Plan.

Renovation of Grade II listed dwelling, SW1X, London
BB Partnership were appointed in 2015 to vary a planning and listed building consent previously attained by another practice, and to subsequently produce working drawings with a view to commencing on site. The scheme involved alterations and extensions to an existing Grade II listed building including excavation of basement, a rear extension at lower ground, ground and first floors, provision of a raised garden and internal changes including installation of a lift.

BB Partnership were appointed in 2014 to renovate and extend an early 20th Century arts and crafts dwelling near Highgate. As the project evolved, the client decided to demolish and rebuild with the front elevation being retained. A planning application was submitted and the scheme was eventually approved through the appeal process.

Appeal Upheld
BBP have received notification from the Planning inspectorate that an appeal submitted in conjunction with planning consultants Studio Aitken has been upheld.
The appeal was for refusal of planning permission by London Borough of Haringey for the demolition of the complete rear structure of an existing house and the construction of a new-build dwelling behind a retained facade in the Bishops Sub-Area of the Highgate Conservation Area.
The inspector described BBP’s design as being one of ‘high architectural quality’ which would not only preserve but ‘would make an equally positive contribution to the conservation area’.
The new 5500sq ft house is of contemporary design and comprises 6 bedrooms plus a single-storey basement.
